Adam Haslett is an American author, born on December 24, 1970, in Kingston, Massachusetts, USA. He is known for his novels, short stories, and essays that explore themes of mental illness, family dynamics, and personal identity.
Haslett graduated from Swarthmore College and earned a law degree from Yale University. He worked as a corporate lawyer in New York City before pursuing writing full time.
His debut novel "Union Atlantic" was published in 2010, which won the Lambda Literary Award for gay fiction and the American Library Association's Stonewall Book Award. His other works include the novel "Imagine Me Gone" (2016) and the short story collections "You Are Not a Stranger Here" (2002) and "Emergency Kit: Poems for Strange Times" (2020).
Haslett has received numerous accolades for his works, including the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction finalist, the National Book Award finalist, and the PEN/Faulkner Award finalist. He has taught creative writing at Yale University, Columbia University, and the University of Iowa.
